Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in film and TV is best known for films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. She was the sole child of Romanian actors Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her showbiz career at an early age. When she was 16years old, Alexandra was able to land leading roles in several TV dramas. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the commercially and critically popular Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated film starring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Over the years Alexandra was involved in numerous noteworthy national and international projects. Some of these include the British biographical films, the British Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon as well as many other. She also remained member of the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
