Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress who works in TV and film is best known for films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16years old, she had obtained a few television appearances, including the lead role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the television movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play several other acclaimed parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. Downfall received nominations for an Oscar and garnered critical praise. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this actress. Through the years, Alexandra was involved in numerous noteworthy national and international projects. These include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical miniseries Napoleon in addition to other projects. Also, she was on juries at Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
